The Public Works Department operates and maintains the public facilities within the City of La Center, including streets, parks, drainage systems and public buildings. This team, under the leadership of Public Works Director, Jeff Sarvis, also manages the design, construction, operation and maintenance of all City-owned public infrastructures.

To keep La Center streets safe for public use, the Maintenance staff conducts a variety of services throughout the year. These can include pothole patching, crack sealing, street sweeping, leaf removal, litter pickup, tree pruning and snow/ice control.

Other valuable services handled by Public Works include mowing, irrigation, weed control, turf repair, rest room sanitation, shrub maintenance, leaf removal and playground equipment maintenance.

The Public Works Department also provides support for our Little League Softball and Soccer teams. When special events occur in our City's public spaces, you can be sure that Public Works is behind the scenes, keeping our community beautiful and functional for the citizens to enjoy.

  • Inter-local Agreement between City of Woodland and City of La Center
    The City of La Center and Woodland have entered into an inter-local agreement for La Center to perform plan review and inspections to verify conformance with applicable State of Washington/International Building Code Council Building Codes as adopted and their related standards and Jurisdiction Titles relative to commercial and residential construction for the City of Woodland.

  • Solid Waste Management Plan
    Clark County currently manages the solid waste program for the City of La Center. Changes in State and Federal regulations make it necessary to periodically update the County's Solid Waste Management Plan. The Clark County Board of Commissioners formally approved the plan on December 9, 2008. The La Center City Council is scheduled to adopt the Clark County Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan with resolution number 09-306 on January 28th, 2009.
