Shoreline Master Program Update:
The state legislature adopted the Shoreline Management Act in 1971 to prevent uncoordinated and piecemeal development of our shorelines. The act's three goals are to foster reasonable and appropriate uses of the shorelines, protect shoreline ecological functions, and provide for public access. The City is now in the process of tailoring and adopting our own individual Shoreline Master Program.
